Either Ether

September 2005

On the surface, grids and geometric shapes are like a blanket that overlay the Natural World. Like a blanket, they can shape to and integrate with their natural surroundings. This synergy, or interaction between the man made and the natural world, is what I paint.

Of course, one could make the case that there really is no distinction between the two, and that nature creates seemingly straight lines (horizons) and geometric shapes (crystals). So, in the end, I hope that the viewer of my work can assimilate the information presented in a non-judgmental way; that there is no heirarchy, only a unified field of seemingly disparate things.
